Good Wednesday Mornin' !!
I can't believe how tired I am today...We've had soccer Monday & Tuesday night and both the girls have advanced to the semi-finals which means we have games again tonight and tomorrow night and if they win those games we'll have two more soccer nights to add to the schedule. I'm SO EXCITED that the girls are doing so well but I'll be honest...I'm getting tired. I think what makes me feel extra tired is knowing the rest of this week is only going to get more busy. After Brooke's game tonight I'll head right over to the church for my drama rehearsal and tomorrow is grocery day! Brooke had her birthday party yesterday (her birthday is actually in October but she wanted to have the girls over for a pool birthday party so we had it yesterday). We had a great time and the girls that came are so incredibly sweet !! I took some cute pictures of the girls but I think I might have done something wrong in loading them up to my computer so I'll have to have Kevin look at it when he gets home.
Even though I'm tired, I am EXCITED about my FIRST ORDER FROM THE NEW CATALOGUE ARRIVING TODAY !!! I'm hoping Mr. Brown arrives by early afternoon so I can have a chance to play with my new stuff before I have to head out for soccer and rehearsal. I won't be able to stamp tomorrow as it's grocery day but I just might go later for groceries so I can still stamp and post in the morning before I head out :)
I can't tell you how much I love "Inspired By Nature"...it's just so beautiful ! I've had several ladies email asking if Kevin will be making blocks for this set and the answer is YES !!!! He'll make a large block to single mount each of the large images and asmall block to single mount the verses from the set also !!!
Here's the card I made today....I used white EP for the "Passion" word and I did "ghosting" with the Black Eyed Susans by stamping in the centre first and then moved to the left and right of that image for the shadow effect. I hope you like it...even though I was tired when I made it :)
Supplies: All Stampin' Up! Stamps: Inspired By Nature; Paper: Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Whisper White; Ink: Markers - Versamarker, Old Olive, Mellow Moss, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa, So Saffron, More Mustard; Accessories: Large Oval Punch, Dimensionals, White EP, Heat Tool
Well I'm heading off to exercise, laundry, housework and hopefully if my UPS guy arrives soon I'll even be able to squeeze in some stamping and playing with my NEW STAMPIN' UP! BIG SHOT DIE CUT MACHINE !!!!!!
Hug the ones you love....even if your at the soccer field every night :)....boy...I sure sound like a whiner today....I'm so sorry about that !
Holla !!!
Oh my gosh, Holy Smolly Macaroni & WOWZA !!!! My dear friend Deb Oberg emailed me last week asking me if I'd ever seen THIS BLOG before and if I had why hadn't I told her about it. Well thankfully I'd never seen it before cause I don't like it when people are mad and me and I would never want Deb to think I was keeping anything from her..hehehe...Anywhoooo.....I decided to check out the blog that she was excited about and....OH MY GOSH !!!!!! What this woman can do with a brayer is beyond amazing !!! And....better yet....she posts a ton of tutorials on how to use her techniques which are incredible and easy to follow !!! When I saw her card (that I attempted below) I actually teared up...it's so beautiful and breathtaking that I had to give it a try !!! And...guess what....I was able to execute it pretty darn well !! She gives some fantastic tips and her cards are just....oh my gosh...they're just....well you're just gonna have to go there and see for yourself. If you click on "THIS BLOG" from this paragraph it will take you directly to her site. Be prepared to spend some time there cause it's absolutely beautiful and fascinating !!!! Truthfully, I've always been a little intimidated by the brayer but after attempting this card....LOOK OUT !!!! The best part is Stampin' Up! sells the brayer she uses and she also uses Stampin' Up inks so I was able to exactly copy her card, which was completely exciting to me. So....without anymore delays...here's my card. I'd love to hear what you think of it too...
Supplies: All Stampin' Up! (sweet, eh!) Stamps: Lovely as a Tree, Refuge & Strength; Paper: Whisper White, Brilliant Blue, Basic Black; Ink: Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Basic Black, Barely Banana, More Mustard, Black Stazon; Accessories: Brayer, Stamp-ma-a-jig
Yesterday was a great day...we all just kind of laid around all afternoon after church (which I can't remember the last time we did this). Even Ella & Scott had a snooze yesterday, isn't it sweet how he's got his arm around her protecting her....
Can you believe that the summer is almost over !!! Our kids head back to school in TWO WEEKS !!! ACKKKKK !!! I'm not ready for them to go back !! How many sleeps until Christmas break?????? We have an exetremely full week..here's what our calendar looks like
Monday (today) - Brooke has a play off soccer game
Tuesday - Brooke's Birthday Party & then Mackenzie has a play off soccer game
Wednesday - I have a drama rehearsal
Thursday - open so far but we all know that won't be for long
Friday - Kevin's boss is having a BBQ
Saturday - Helena & Isaac (dear friends) are having a BBQ
Sunday - Brooke's soccer team has their end of the season BBQ
Not to mention all the other stuff that's packed into the week..getting kids to work, housework, stamping, stamping and oh yeah...did I mention stamping !!! I have no doubt that even though the events on our calendar may be different than yours or maybe it is the same we're all trying to find time to get it all done ! But, remember always that family comes first !! Followed closely by stamping....hehehe
Hug the ones you love !!!
Happy Sweet Saturday My Friends !!!
Good mornin' my fine and wonderful friends :) I'm in a good good mood today as I'm going to have some extra time to get caught up on my stamping kits that have been ordered that ladies have been patiently waiting for so it will be nice to be able to send these out to these lovely ladies. With that in mind I wanted to show you an autograph book that dear sweet Kathy asked me to make for her son who will be graduating in a year but she wanted to plan ahead (she's a better woman than I am :) I've finished her 10-10-25 kit and will shipping all these goodies along with the autograph book out to her first thing Monday morning...thank you for your patience, Kathy !!!! I didn't want to fill out the year for the graduation but I'll be sending her several numbers so that she can use the right ones for her son. I made a little diploma for on top of the grad cap (I hope you could tell that it's suppose to look like a grad cap :) Any feedback would be great !!!! Sorry...the picture didn't turn out that great though :(
Also here's some of those pictures that I told you about from Brooke's soccer game...there's actually a few pictures from her last two games...what can I say...I'm a proud mom :) A HUGE THANK YOU to Shirley Nieman for taking these incredible photos. Shirley is a hugely talented photographer and I'm so grateful that she was able to catch these wonderful pics of my Brooke !!! Thanks, Shirley !!!!!
I have to start with my favourite one...this is Brooke right after she scored !!!!!! Her face says it all !!!
Brooke and her good friend, Lexie :)
Celebrating the win !!!!
Looking at these pictures just makes me so happy, proud & excited to be a mom !!! There's nothing more satisfying than watching your child celebrate and there's nothing more rewarding than being there for them when life isn't so wonderful and all they want at those times is you to tell them everything is going to be alright. Okay...stop right now and go hug your kids !!!! I have go get kleenex and hug my kids...I'll be back in a minute...
Okay...I've hugged my kids and blew my nose and now I'm ready to share some more VERY EXCITING NEWS !!! I'M GOING TO HAVE MY FIRST EVER STAMPIN' UP! OPEN HOUSE !!!! I've been a demonstrator for over three years and I decided it's long over due that I open up my humble home, do some stamping, do some eating, do some drooling over the new stamp sets & accessories and the NEW BIG SHOT & EXCLUSIVE DIES !!!! I'll have the NEW catalogue here for you to look through (which is part of the reason why my Open House date is a little later than it should be....unfortunately my 4 cases of catalogues were lost so I've had to reorder them so I needed to make sure I picked a date that I knew my catalogues would be here and I didn't want to interfer with the long weekend either) So....with all that in mind MY OPEN HOUSE DATE IS....SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13TH !!!! If your in the area and you'd like to come by please RSVP so I can be sure to have a make n' take ready for you and feel free to invite all your friends and family too!! I'll be sharing more details early next week but I wanted to give you the date now so you can circle it on your calendar and plan to attend....I'D LOVE TO SEE YOU !!!!!
Well I'm off to do more stamping and hug those kids of mine and if Kevin's a good boy I'll hug him too....hehehe ! Thank you so much for stopping by today...I'm so glad that you did !! You're too sweet !!!

Happy Friiiiiiiiiiday !!!!!!
I'm so sorry that I didn't post yesterday but it was a very exciting day in the Somerville family !!! Why you might ask????? Well....Jessica (our 18 yr old) found out yesterday that she won a essay contest that she entered at the end of her school year and guess what.....she won and she won $1,000....can you believe it....$1,000 !!!!!!! The school called her yesterday asking her when she was going to collect her prize and she said...."What prize...I didn't know I won anything????" Someone had forgotten to call my darling daughter to tell her that she won this award back in JUNE !!! Oh well better late than never to tell her :) !!!
PLUS...Brooke's soccer team advantaged into the finals for her soccer leaque and she scored a goal !!!! It was incredible to watch her score as she's worked so hard all year long and the look on her face was truly PRICELESS !!! One of the mum's on the team sent me a picture of her right after she scored but I haven't been able to figure out how to paste into my post but I'll have Kevin do it as soon as he gets home so you'll want to check back again later on to see if her picture is her...it's such a sweet picture !!!!!
AND... I called Forest City Community Church this week and booked the room for my Annual Christmas Stamp a Stack and the date is.....drum roll please.....SATURDAY, OCTOBER 25TH !!!!!! I'm so excited that I got this date as it's after the Canadian Thanksgiving and before Hallowe'en so it's perfect !!! I've already got 2 of the 4 cards planned and in a couple of weeks I'll even give you all a sneak peek at one of the cards....hehehehehe !!!! I'm already so excited !!!!!
Okay..now onto stamping...I
wanted to play with the other stamp set that we got free at convention
which is called Eastern Bloom !! I was so excited when I saw this set
at convention as it reminds me of some Papertrey stamps (and I love
their stuff but I've never bought any) so imagine my excitement when I
saw how beautiful this stamp set is !!!!! All my new goodies from the
Fall/Winter catalogue should arrive late next week and I'm already
drooling just thinking about opening up that box !!!!! I better be
wearing a bib when it arrives :) !!!
Supplies: All Stampin' Up! Stamps: Eastern Blooms, Inspired By Nature; Paper: Bella Rose, Kiwi Kiss, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White; Ink: Markers - Old Olive, Ruby Red, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa; Accessories: Cutter Kit, Dimensionals, NEW - 1" Double-Stitched Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon
I've also decided to have a Fall/Winter Stampin' Up! Catalogue Open House at the end of the month so stay tuned in the next few days for upcoming details.....it will definately be FUN FUN FUN !!!!
Well I hope you have a fantastic day and I'm sure celebrating with my kids and the great things that have happened to them !!! Thanks, God for blessing them....I appreciate it :) !
Hug the ones you love !!!
Goooooooood Olympic Morning :) !!!
I don't know about you but I LOVE watching the Olympics !! I love hearing all the inspirational stories of athletes from all over the world !! If you could compete in any Summer Olympic Sport what would it be? I think I would pick weightlifting....hehehe just kidding....I think I probably would have loved to do gymnastics. When I was in both grade school and high school I tried out for the gymnastics team and never got on so I was the "spotter" on the team. I always envied my friends who were on the team. They always looked so graceful and elegant. But I'm proud to say that at the age of 44 I can still do a somersault....I'm dizzy afterwards but I can still do it !!!! :)
Last night was club night and I had a blast with my girlies !!! What an incredible group of women come into my home every month....I'm so blessed to have them as my friends. They will never be "my customers"...they will always be my friends who buy Stampin' Up! stuff from me :) !!
We made the Spring Card that I showed you yesterday but instead we used the NEW "FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLY" STAMP SET !!! Such a gorgeous set !!!! I was sad when Bold Butterfly retired but this new butterfly set kicks Bold Butterfly's butt (no disrespect intended....but it really does kick butt :) The girls loved it, which always makes me extra happy :) We got to play with the NEW SCALLAP EDGE PUNCH too last night ! Here she is...
Supplies: All (as always) Stampin' Up! Stamps: Flight of the Butterfly; Paper: Bella Rose DP, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirourette, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip; Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirourette, Riding Hood Red; Accessories: Coluzzle, Scallop Punch, Scallop Edge Punch, Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, White Unigel Pen
I also wanted to show you how to use these gorgeous butterfly stamps :)
First I stamped out the solid butterfly using Pink Pirourette Ink. You'll notice that I mounted my stamps at the bottom of my wood block. Here's why...when I go to stamp the next image on top I can see the bottom of the butterfly wings so that I can match it up almost perfectly on top of the solid butterfly image. That way I don't have to use my Stamp-ma-a-jig (as wonderful of a tool as it is !!!)
Like so...(you'll notice my gorgeous nails are gone...after I had lost 4 of them in one week I decided it was time to say good bye :(
Here's the three butterfly overlay images that you get with this stamp set along with an adorable little butterfly (shown in kiwi kiss on the inside of my card above) and three beautiful curly word verses (one of which is on the front of my card above too :)
Well I hope you found that helpful :) I'm dying to show you the other card that we made at club last night but I don't want to spoil the surprise for my other club girls :) I'll share that one as soon as I've had my club night with them !!!! :)
Thanks for coming by my place today...I'm glad you did and I hope you're glad you did too.
Hug and squeeze the ones you love !!!!
Holla My Dear Friends :)
Last night was so much fun at Alicia's team Stampin' Up! meeting ! We always learn so much and Alicia has phenomonial door prizes ! I won one of the Decor Elements !!! At the meeting I demonstrated a technique that we learned at convention. It's a sneak peek for my club girls as we're going to make one tonight !!! We're going to make a different one from the one I'm showing you here...we're gonna use the NEW "FLIGHT OF THE BUTTERFLY" STAMP SET !!!! I'm also going to try and post a video tutorial on how to make this card in the next week and will post it as soon as it's completed :) It's called a Spring Card and is such a cool surprise when you open it !!!!
Supplies: All Stampin' Up! Stamps: Bugs & Kisses; Paper: Green Galore, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White, Basic Black; Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Pixie Pink, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore, Basic Black; Accessories: Coluzzle, Spiral Punch,
1 3/8" & 1 1/4" Circle Punches, Scallop Punch, Paper Snips,Dimensionals, Mini Glue Dots, Sticky Strip.
Next I also wanted to share with you this gorgeous Roxy bag that my dear sweet and wonderful friend Anne gave me last night !!! I absolutely LOVE it !!! Brown and Green are my favourite colours so this just couldn't be more perfect...she completely blew me away !!!!
Last but not least I wanted to show you the pictures that I had taken with the famous Shelli Gardner (Co-founder & CEO of Stampin' Up!) She is the kindest woman...she wanted to talk to each one of us before we had our picture taken with her. She genuinely cares for all of us as individuals...she's truly amazing !!!
But of course I didn't want a "normal" picture with Shelli. Alicia & Lisa (dear friends of mine) dared me to do something goofy for my picture. I was just being silly...not disrespectful. Shelli's husband Stirling was there helping ladies with their cameras and he said to go ahead and be myself for the picture.....so.....here's what I did...
Shelli was a great sport and let me take a "real" picture with her. She's such a doll !!! Lisa Bowman presented me with this gorgeous frame of my pictures with Shelli. Thanks, Lisa...you're a complete sweetheart to me !!
I placed my first NEW CATALOGUE order yesterday and as soon as it arrives I'll be making a New Accordian File Folder Box to show you using the NEW DESIGNER PAPER!!! I'll be offering a class for this project and also offering kits !!! You can see a tutorial for this project on Scrapbook Lounge but if you'd like all the supplies prepared for you as a "ready to make" kit and some extra tips from me to make it a little easier to make, then I'd be happy to make a kit for you. Stay tuned for that !!!
Well I'm off to continue housework and to get ready for my club girls to arrive tonight !! I feel like I haven't seen them in forever and I'm so excited to share with them what I learned at convention!!!!

Good Happy Monday Morning :) !!!
Well today is another crazy busy day but I HAD to show what my wonderful Hawaiian Blogging Buddy, Teri sent me !!! I have to admit I am so bad at sending gifts to my blogging buddies BUT it's on "my goals" list for this coming year to improve in that area. Teri blew me away with her generosity !!! The kids freaked out over the Hawaiian chocolate that she sent and my jaw hit the ground with the BEAUTIFUL & UNIQUE STAR BOOK !!! This book is beyond incredible...it's so beautiful and eye catching that I couldn't stop staring at it !!! You have to go check out Teri's Blog...she's so sweet, talented & adorable !! Here's a link to her blog here !!!! Leave her a comment and tell her Roxy sent ya :) !
Here's what she sent me !!!!!....
I can't thank you enough Teri for your kindness...I was truly touched and overwhelmed by your sweetness....thank you so very much !!!
Today I'll be preparing all day for our AMAZING, SPECTACULAR & SUPER DUPER QUARTERLY MEETING hosted by the one and only incredible team leader...MRS. ALICIA RYCKMAN !!!! I have had the priviledge of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for over three years and I have NEVER missed one of Alicia's meetings !!!! They are a MUST attend if at all possible ! Inbetween prepping for tonight I've got laundry, housework & family to take care of...all of which I'm priviledged to do... even when life is busy...it's a good life that I'm blessed to have.
I'm going to be demonstrating tonight something that I learned at convention and I'm hoping to do a video later this week showing how to do it so I can share it with all of you !! It's such a cool and best of all easy technqiue and way too cute !!!

Happy Fannnnnnntastic Friday !!!!
I wish you all could see me right now....I haven't washed my hair in days...my housework is sadly neglected...my stamp space looks like a bus hit it (head on) BUT... I'VE MADE TIME TO STAMP.....hehehe !!!!! I wonder if my head will ever stop spinning....not likely and truthfully...I don't want it too !!!! :)
I wanted to play with the opposite side of the "Inspired By Nature" set...yup...that's right....you heard me right....this is a double mounted stamp with the Black Eyed Susan Flowers on one side and the Tall Field Grass on the other PLUS the two verses, "Live With Passion" & "Good Works are links that form a chain of love" I actually feel peaceful when I use this stamp set cause it's such a beautiful and calming set. I do get excited using it but it's a calm excitement....hehehe.
In all three cards I did embossing of the grass to make the grass jump off the card a little more. The sample in the catalogue using the grass is a gorgeous framed piece that would take about 5 minutes to make and it's such a beautiful project to make as a gift. Have I said lately how much I LOVE THE NEW CATALOGUE !!!! Hmmmm....I might have :)
Here's the three cards grouped together...
And here they are individually...
I also wanted to share with you some more things that I learned at convention...but remember I'm giving you a little bit at a time so you don't have a stamping stroke due to information overload....speaking of that....when Shelli Gardner revealed the new BIG SHOT and EXCLUSIVE STAMPIN' UP DIE CUTS I leaned over to Alicia Ryckman (our amazing, wonderful, beautiful, oh soo sweet team leader) and said..."Alicia...I'm gonna have a stroke" More of the Big Shot in the weeks to come :) !! Anywhoo.....one of the classes I attended was about modifying workshops and....OH MY GOSH !!! I'm so excited about this new format ! Hostesses will get even more gifts from moi and workshop time from start to finish will be shorter !!!! So....if you want to book your Stampin' Up! workshop with MOI (that's French for "me"...hehe) please feel free to email me and let's book a paaaaaaarty with your friends and family with the NEW STAMPIN' UP CATALOGUE !!!! Did I say how much I love the new catalogue?....yuppers !!! :) So why not gather some friends & family and...LET'S PARTY TOGETHER !!!!!!
Well today is Kevin's last official day of his holidays and I already miss him just thinking about him heading back to work on Monday ! He's truly THE best ! Thank you Mom & Dad Somerville for raising such an incredible man ! I can hardly wait for the Christmas break to have back on holidays again ! How many sleeps is that?????
Hug the ones you love and thanks for swinging by....you were so sweet to do that :) ! Love ya !
Goooooooooood Mornin' :)
Well today is grocery day as Mother Hubbard's cupboards are definately bare !!! The kids ate almost everything in sight while we were away....even though my wonderful in-laws took the kids out for a lovely supper and my parents made the kids a wonderful meatball dinner for another supper AND we left them tons of food...oh well....at least they didn't starve :) So...I'm off today to restock the shelves but I HAD TO stamp before I left :)
This beautiful stamp which is called "Inspired By Nature" was one of the free sets we got at convention ! I absolutely LOVE the look of this stamp and it has tons of applications !!! I couldn't resist making a card using this stamp set especially after seeing Dawn's incredible creation on her blog this morning. If you go to Dawn's blog this morning here (and let's face it....why wouldn't you go to Dawn's blog everyday !!!!!) you'll see an adorable note card holder using "Inspired by Nature". Dawn used sponge daubers for a beautiful softer effect on her project while I used markers for a little bolder look. Chalks would be great too !!!! The other side of this stamp is long field grass which I'm hoping to make another card with after groceries so if I get all my ducks in a row I'll stamp again this afternoon and post that card too :)
Supplies: All Stampin' Up! Stamps: NEW - Inspired By Nature; Paper: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White; Ink - Markers - Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, More Mustard; Accessories: Dimensionals :)
Gotta fly but I'm so glad you flew by to visit me today :) Have a fantastic day and do something extra nice for yourself today !!!
Hug the ones you love and smile at a stranger today....don't flirt....just smile :) !!!!
Hello My Dear Sweet Wonderful and Amazing Friends !!!
I know you probably thought I dropped off the edge of the planet....I'm so sorry about that. We got home at 6:30am on Monday morning after 30+ straight hours on the road !!! Honestly...it was worth each every mile just to have been at convention. Monday I did laundry the whole day and the housework that the kids didn't get a chance to get to. The kids did a fantastic job this past week and worked like a great team should. Tuesday I had four big Stampin' Up boxes to sort as these were orders that arrived while I was away. So....today I finally got a chance to STAMP !!!! I feel like a new woman again :) I figured that if I tried to tell you everything that happened at convention in one day that your head will explode (like mine almost did :) I actually had a migraine from Saturday evening until last night (I really think it was from my head spinning from drooling all over the New catalogue and planning all my projects, classes, events for the next year !!!!
