Well it's hard to believe but TODAY is the final day of the current Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue !!!!  WOWZA...that year went fast BUT...I'm beyond freaked out excited about our new catalogue !!!!!!!!!!!!  Trust me....so will you :)!

As a final farewell to the catalogue and some retiring stamp sets I thought I'd share with you the ADORABLE Birthday card my dear, sweet, wonderful, american sister Lorri made for me!!! I called it "under the stars goes tropical"

Look how she made the palm tree !!! It's the scallop oval punch...GENIUS !!!

7 more weeks and I'll spending 4 1/2 FULL DAYS with my Lorri !!!!!!  YIPPEEEE !!!! We'll not only be together at Convention but we're also bunk mates too :) :) !!! Lucky girl gets to wake up to me every morning....hahaha!

Tomorrow night we're having a family BBQ (minus Scott who has to work :( so you know I'll have family pics to show you :)!

I'm sure if you've been asking yourself the question "Does Roxy (aka Corinne) still have a blog?"  and I'm pleased to say the the answer is YES :)

Oh my gosh I've been beyond a BAD blogger lately !!!!!  I can't apologize enough for being so long between my posts...ughhh...I truly feel awful about this !!!

I hope you'll forgive me and welcome me back into your lives :)  Pleeeeeeeeease.......Purdy Pleeeeeeeeeease !!!!!!! Purdy Pleeeeeeeease with a little Splenda on top???????!!!!!!!!

No worries...I haven't abandoned you and life is good just.....super busy!  I know your life is too and I'll do my best to get better :)

This was the third project that we made at our monthly clubs this month and it was a big hit!  Thanks to Mary Fish for her tutorial and card layout! What I love about this card it's not just a card but a gift too with the Corner Bookmark!  Genius!

Hollllllla !!!!!!!!!!!!!

We LOVED having Cohen sleepover last night!!!!  I had to put my "gramma foot" down and lovingly insist that Jessica & Scott take an overnight break !  They've had very little sleep since Cohen got whooping cough three weeks ago (although I'm happy to report he's getting better everyday!).  Our little boy arrived at our doorstep at 4:00pm yesterday so that his mom & dad could have a date night AND a good night's sleep!  I remember my mom doing this for Kevin and I and I was more than happy to do this for Jess & Scott !  SIDE NOTE: I'm super duper excited that Cait & Ben will be back home for the summer so I'll get Kendall sleepovers then !!!!!!!!!! YIPPPEEE !!!!!!!!!

Jessica and Scott went to see "what to expect when you're expecting" and cried through the movie...maybe not the best movie choice the first night away from their son...hahaha :) Cohen and I had wonderful bonding time and he did so well but he was sure happy to see his mama...although I don't think as happy as she was to see him :) ! 

It's a good thing that both Scott's mom and I are called - Grandma/Gramma so we can both claim ownership of this title !!!!

Cait & Kendall are in town for a short visit and I bought Kendall a cute outfit that I'll take a picture of tonight and share that with you all tomorrow !!!! 

Today's card is one of my May Stampers Club cards :)  No surprise I got this idea from pinterest :)  I used the striped embossing folder to add some extra texture to the card and make it a little more masculine :)

Tonight is Brooke's first soccer game and we're having Cait, Jess & Grandbabies over for supper and then we'll head over to the soccer field and watch her play !!!

Well...I should fly...I need to get the pizza dough in the breadmaker cause it's HOMEMADE DEEP DISH PIZZA night !!!!

VERY productive weekend and May Thank Yous :)

Hollllllllllllllllllllllla !!!!!!

We're all pretty pumped for this summer because....WE'RE PUTTING IN A POOL !!!!  I scored an AMAZING deal on a used pool at the end of last summer so we are getting everything ready to "git er dun" !!!!!  We spent the weekend pulling everything from under our existing deck and now we're taking down the banister and tearing the deck back to where we'll put the pool in, so that once the pool is up we'll start to build the existing deck up to and around the pool !!! I can hardly wait !!!!!!!!! :) :) :)  So we all worked VERY hard this past weekend (thank goodness it was a long weekend) to get things started.  Kevin is taking holidays in early June to actually put the pool up and finish the deck put there's tons of work that we'll be doing until then to be ready for that!

Today I wanted to share with you my May Thank You cards !  I'm using some retiring colours as a tribute to the 2010-2012 In Colours :)

 

Tonight is another club night so I'm super excited to my girlies again !!!  I'll share the cards this week that we've made at my May Clubs ! :)

Why hello there :)  Remember me????? hahaha :)

Yesterday I got SO much "catching up" done and feeling pretty good right now about that ! On top of that Kevin is taking tomorrow off and we're spending the entire day together.......ahhhhhhh !  We're not doing anything exciting, in fact we're grocery shopping and picking up mulch for the front garden bed but I don't care...we'll be together and it feels like forever since we've had a full day together!

I figured this card was pretty appropriate  since I'm getting back into the "swing" of things so I should share a "swing" card...yup...haven't lost my sense of humour!

Hi All :)!!!

First let me thank you ALL for your kind comments and emails asking about our little Cohen!

I'm VERY happy to say that he is on the mend!  When we were at the pediatrician yesterday she was pleased with how he's doing and told us he is no longer contagious but that the cough may still go on for another 3+ weeks but he's doing so well and we're all so thankful to God for his care of our little guy!

 He's doing so well...just look :)

and of course...our adorable Kendall :)

Now that life has returned to somewhat "normal" I'm just trying to get caught up so that's what I'm doing today :)

I'll be back tomorrow with some cards that I've made recently :)

Reason for my absence this week...

Cohen Update:  We found out that Cohen's test results showed that he does have whooping cough (pertussis).  Thankfully because it was caught early he should respond well to his antibiotics which he started yesterday.  Kevin and I spent the day with Jessica and Cohen (poor Scott had to return to work) today and he's doing well.  You wouldn't know he was sick until he coughs...then it's heartbreaking :(

 

Hello friends...

This has been an extremely difficult week that has thankfully ended well.  Our little grandson Cohen has had a cough the last couple of weeks but things changed early in the week and he had to admitted into the hospital for testing.  A chest x-ray revealed he had Pneumonia and they were concerned that he might have also had pertussis (whooping cough).  Today the Drs are confident that he doesn't have pertussis but does have croup.  Jessica and Scott have been living up at the hospital since Tuesday night and Caitlin came down from Toronto and while she was up at the hospital I would look after Kendall and then at the end of the day we would take Kendall to Cait and Kevin & I would stay up for the evening.  

There were times this week that all I could was cry out God to help our little boy and I'm so thankful to God that he is well enough now to go home! 

This week was my birthday and I received the best birthday gift ever when our sweet Cohen, Jessica and Scott went home as a family this afternoon!

Our God is good and my heart has never been happier!

Wowza....I don't even want to know how long it's been since I've posted a card !!!!  But in case you thought I'd stopped stamping...I promise you..I haven't !!! hahaha

I haven't stopped making things I've just been so busy that sitting down long enough to post just hasn't seemed to happened but I'm hopeful that things will now calm to their normal "crazy busy" instead of insane "crazy busy" :) :)

Today I want to share with you one of the cards we made at club last month that was completely cased by my sweet friend, Lorri I can hardly wait for July 17-21 when Lorri and I will have 4 1/2 days together at convention...we're even going to be roommates too !!! YIPPEEEE !!!!!!!!!!!!

Little did I know when we made this card last month that almost every item (other then the colours and punches) were going to be retiring...even the alphabet die set!!!!

It's been a SUPER HERO kind of week !!!! :) :) :) :)

Gooooooooood Mornin' !!!!!!

What an AMAZING week !!!!!!!  What a busy week !!!!!!!!  What a week :) :) :)

Today's post (and yes...it is the first one this week...I'M SO SORRY ABOUT THAT !!!) has absolutely nothing to do with stamping and everything to do with SUPERHEROS !!! :)

Let me explain....Brooke (our 14 yr) is a HUGE Avengers fan...I mean HUGE HUGE Avengers fan!  She sent a letter to Tom Hiddleston (aka Loki) in England to get his autograph which she now has lovingly framed in her room :)

Brooke found out a few months ago that a few of the actors from the Avengers movie were going to be at a premiere red carpet event at a movie theatre in Toronto on April 3oth.  So Brooke, Mac and I drove to Toronto on Sunday afternoon and stayed with Cait/Ben & Kendall and had a great time with them and spent the night and got up bright and early on Monday morning and took the subway to downtown Toronto.  We found the Scotiabank Theatre and tried to ask some employees if they knew what time the event was going to be starting and I'll be honest...they weren't very helpful :(  We had heard it was to start at 6:00 so we went walked around the Eaton's Centre for 3 hours and then walked back to the theatre for 3:30 to see if anything was happening.

There was already a small crowd of people there and we got the vib that if we didn't have movie tickets that we couldn't stay in the lobby so I asked a manager and he said we were more then welcome to stay there and he even told us the best place to stand so we could get autographs and pictures and guess what !!!!!  We were the first people at the end of the red carpet !!!!!!!!!! 

So at 3:30 we lined up at the end of the red carpet and at 7:00pm Mark Ruffalo appeared !!!!!!!  It was SO amazing and Brooke was the first person to get an autograph from him and he was SOOOO sweet and patient and kind !  Both Mackenzie & Brooke got autographs AND pictures with him!

Then it was Coby Smoulders turn to come down the red carpet and again...she was SOOOOOO sweet and patient and kind!  They were running so far behind and yet they didn't rush off.   Coby's assistant told her they had to leave and Brooke asked if she could have a picture with her and she told her assistant that she had to have her picture with the girls.  Brooke & Mac were the ONLY people to get a picture with her !!!! WHAT A SWEETHEART !!!!!

My only disappointment was I took my good camera and just before they came down the red carpet my battery died so I had to use my iphone for pictures :(

I have to say the look on Brooke's face was worth the crazy drive to Toronto, going on the subway in downtown Toronto (we actually had to transfer too :), walking endless miles killing time and walking back and forth from the Theatre to mall, the ride back on the subway and the 2 hr nighttime drive in pouring rain back home again.  She was worth every second of it !!!!!

Wow...what a good (busy) week! :)

Happy Friday !!!!

I would say that I'm generally a pretty busy person but these last couple of weeks have been extremely busy and I'm not gonna lie...I'm looking forward to the weekend !!!!

Next Monday I'm taking Brooke & Mackenzie to Toronto to try and see if we can catch a glimpse of some of the Avengers actors at the movie premiere there !! Brooke is the BIGGEST Avengers fan there is !!!!  I'm hoping/praying that she can hopefully even get to see the top of one the actors heads through the crowds...hahaha :)

Tuesday and Wednesday I'm working with a very dear friend to clean out University dorms for 12 hour days BUT this will pay for my flight to Utah for convention so although I can only imagine what I'm going to see while cleaning the dorms I'm so thankful for this extra work to pay for my flight !! Thank you Lord !!!!!

Last night I had my downline meeting and I can say is....I LOVE THESE GIRLS SO MUCH !!!!!!!!!!  We had such a great time together and talked business, got caught up with each other, shared creativity and talked about everything else that had nothing to do with business :)  And...of course we made stuff !!!!!

These are the two petite purses that we made last night!  Thanks Dawn for the inspiration....again :) !

 

Hopefully I'll have some pictures to share with you next week of some movie stars ....hahaha :)
